VRC is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Director of Rugby for the CJC youth section (Cubs, Juniors, and Colts). In this role, you will be responsible for the training, development, and technical guidance of the youth age groups Cubs, Juniors, and Colts. Our young club (founded 10 years ago, 250 youth members) is growing rapidly and seeks a driving force to further raise the quality of rugby and coaching for our players, trainers, and coaches.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the entire CJC (Cubs, Juniors, Colts) youth program, ensuring a consistent and structured development pathway across all age groups.
• Design and implement a clear training framework for each age group, defining season objectives, key learning goals, and progression milestones.
• Coordinate and align training methods, game principles, and development goals between age groups to ensure a coherent long-term player pathway (with GTBM)
• Mentor, support, and develop the coaching team within the CJC section — offering guidance, feedback, and technical expertise and establish a way of working.
• Lead training sessions and matches where needed, setting the standard for quality and intensity.
• Work closely with the Technical Committee (TC) to establish, monitor, and evaluate annual plans and development objectives. Closely connected to GTBM.
• Promote player performance and facilitate progression to higher competitive levels, in line with the club’s strategic plan.
• Organize specialist or position-specific training sessions, personally or through external experts, in coordination with the TC.
• Attend player/parent sessions when needed.

Profile

• Experienced and enthusiastic rugby professional trainer with a passion for youth
  development and coaching excellence.
• Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring and coordinating a team of youth coaches
  across multiple age groups.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to connect with players,
  coaches, parents, and the Technical Committee. In English and Dutch (a plus).
• Flexible and proactive mindset, well-suited for a scale-up and ambitious club
  environment.
• Familiar with the Athletic Skills Model and able to translate it into practical training
  programs.

Agreement and cooperation

• Collaboration is intended for a minimum of two seasons.
• Fixed schedule for the 2025–2026 season: training sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings from approximately 17:30 to 20:30, and a coaching role for the Cubs on Saturdays from approximately 10:00 to 14:00.
• Minimum of 10 hours per week during the active season.
• Independent work setup, coordinated with training and match schedules and the TC.
• Close cooperation with the TC for planning and content alignment.
• Annual progress evaluation with the board and TC.
• In the first year, quarterly interim evaluations with the TC and board.

Requirements and professionalism

• Compliance with sport-specific requirements such as codes of conduct, VOG (certificate of good conduct), safety, and anti-doping policies.
• Uphold professional standards and consistent representation within the club’s communication and branding guidelines.
• Adherence to external sports obligations imposed by relevant authorities such as NOC*NSF, unions, and ministries.
• Accreditation for World Rugby Coach Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent national certification).
